Greetings and salutations to all!!! Welcome to another exciting edition of Weekly Update!!! Lots going on all over the place, so let’s jump right in…
Finished the Urban Fantasy short story I was writing yesterday, and won my Camp NaNoWriMo challenge! Boy, it’s a great feeling to meet goals, isn’t it? Still have editing to do on all the stories I wrote this month, but I’ll be ready to start my next one on the 1st. That’s going to be a shorter one, probably between 10k-15k, so it shouldn’t take long to crack out. It’s going to be way different than other stuff I’ve written, but I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I’m glad that I have the opportunity to make it happen know… New York City… romance… drag queens… it’s going to be a blast! LOL
Not sure if you saw the post yesterday, but I’m putting out feelers and seeing if ya’ll are interested in doing a group reading of The Cold Ones. I think it would be a lot of fun to do, and hopefully the together reading and discussing aspect will encourage you to give it a try if you may have been on the fence about it. I’m getting ready to do some great things with this one… new imagery, maybe a video or two… and guys in here… if you dig fantasy/action/adventure/cool creatures ala Guillermo del Toro, give this one a try.
Bistro Wednesday’s character archetype series will be continuing Wednesday with the next installment… The CHARMER. If you aren’t already a member of the Bistro, or you are a member and haven’t checked these out, you aren’t far behind. Head on over, join, and catch up. Also, the Bistro Wednesday series is going to be going up on my website soon, so you will be able to read each installment without mad scrolling. LOL
I’m going to be starting a new weekly feature, the Thursday 3000. As you all know, I enjoy Live Writing to the extreme, and now that I’ve tried my hand at shorter stories, I’m liking the idea of writing up a quicky story, 1k-3k words a pop. So, each Thursday I’m going to run a post where you can head over to Pinterest, or search online, and post a writing prompt that you like. The one that gets the most likes I will use to write a short story, under 3k words, and starring the poster of the winning prompt. So, keep your eyes open on Thursdays… I can’t wait to see what happens!
Boy, this is long… and we aren’t done yet!!!
Events this week… Live Writes at the Bistro is this coming Wednesday, 7PM-11PM, all times EST. We have 8 spectacular writers coming to write, so you do not want to miss it.
I’m also hosting a RapidFire double-header this week in the Land of Muchness. April 30th, 10-11PM, we’ll be welcoming Leah Negron and Anna Pulla, and on May 1st, 10-11PM, Anna will be joining us again, along with a mystery guest… not sure who yet… hmmm… LOL
Finally, next Friday, 10-11:30, I will be kicking it BarSide at BarSide Shenanigans!!! We’ll be chatting live about… God only knows what, but it will be spontaneous and fun, and you don’t want to miss it!!!
