Gaby’s Books & Muchness – Weekly Update – Volume 32_09162018

Greetings and salutations!!! Yep, it’s that time again… welcome back to Weekly Update! Let’s dive in…

So, as some of you may have noticed I have not been tagging as much as I usually do. The reason for that is marketing. See, when I share my greeting from my author page and tag people, it increases my reach and engagement on my author page… great stuff, but because it’s from tags it’s kind of artificial… And as much as I want to be seen and have people interact, it’s also important for them to come find ME rather than me bringing THEM in. So, if you are a morning “taggee”, some mornings you will see there won’t be a morning tag. I do hope that you take a moment to hop over to my author page or my profile and find me, though. After the experiment last week (when I didn’t tag at all), my numbers stayed up thanks to you guys sticking with me. You guys rock!!! Thank you so much!!!

I’m looking forward to another quiet week. I’ll be getting the print proof for RAZOR’S EDGE anytime now, so I’ll be combing through it looking for any straggling booboos that need correction. Two weeks until the book releases, and preorder is up on all platforms.

Speaking of platforms, I made a big decision about my other series last night, and set things in motion… The Bloodline series is now being delisted from all platforms except Amazon. The plan is when it is free to do so, I’m going to put all three books into KU. The first two did alright there, and Wolfborn has never been in, so I think a stint in there will be beneficial. The Kate Gardener Mysteries, along with THE COLD ONES, will remain wide for the foreseeable future. Some of my upcoming publications will likely be exclusive to Amazon, including the short story prequel to the Bloodline series, and a new series of short stories that will start coming out likely in January.

A few notices: Live Writes Rewind is going to take a break for a few weeks, but it will start up again soon with fresh “reruns” of stellar Live Writes. I’m also contemplating something new to do for Bistro Wednesdays since we’ve concluded the archetype series, so as soon as I come up with something cool, I’ll let you know.

Alright, it’s now time to rest and relax… a new week is approaching… hope everyone has a great day, and a great start to their week. See you here next week for another edition of Weekly Update… Until then, Peace, Love & Muchness to all!!!

Gabry’s Books & Muchness – Weekly Update – Volume 31_09092018

Halooooooo! LOL Welcome back, Muchlanders and folks from here and there to another fantabulous edition of Weekly Update. So, what’s going on? Well… read…on…

I’ve been busy with writing this past week, or at least trying to be. I’m staying on pace writing this short story and hopefully will have it done by the end of the month. Then it’s back to mysteries and finishing up the next two Kate Gardener’s. I’m getting ready to do some major things with these, I hope… I’ve been crunching keywords, fluffling through genres and categories, and I’m hoping to apply what I’ve learned soon and see what happens…

Oh, this coming week THE COLD ONES is on sale for $0.99… I’m doing a special promo with Art of the Arcane, which will be featuring the book along with many other spectacular fantasy finds. If you haven’t had a chance to read this one-of-a-kind historical fantasy… if you dig all things Celtic and Druish (is Druish a word? *shrugs* Mel Brooks used it so I’m going with it)… Then you must get this book and read this book. Oh, and did I mention there’s a talking horse? Yeah, he’s a horse… that talks… and he’s snarky… so read it… #TeamKieranthePuca

Moving on… back to mysteries… I’m really feeling mysteries lately… In fact, I’m actually looking at some outlines and such that I have, and may be giving them a tweak here and there to see if they could work good in that MST category (MST is Mystery-Suspense-Thriller)… As I said up there, I bit the big one and purchased some analytic data this week to see if my instincts were good, or not. Turns out I was actually going in the right direction with most of what I’m doing… I just need to take it up a notch, as Emeril would say. And I have SOOOOOO many things for Kate Gardener Mysteries… I literally have three and a half pages of loglines, two columns of titles, AND another, um, five “episode” outlines to work from… So Kate, Pierce, Jimi, and all the gang will be around for as long as possible.

I’m not giving up on fantasy, either… The current story I’m working on is fantasy, and I have an idea for a rather cool series of historical fantasy novellas, one of which I have done already. It’s kind of amazing… but I have to get more of them written before I can start showing you… yeah, I know, I’m a tease 😉

Okay, now I must head off to write and get some promotion ready for the week. Until next week, my friends, Peace, Love and Muchness to you all!!! Have a great week!!!

Gaby’s Books & Muchness – Weekly Update – Volume 30_09022018

Well, here we are again… it’s Weekly Update time!!!

This past week we finished up the Heroic Archetype series in the Writers’ Bistro group. If you followed along, you know we made our way through 16 male and female character archetypes… and may have learned a little about our own characters, and ourselves, in the process. If you didn’t read along, head on over to the Writers’ Bistro group and scroll back through. And if you aren’t already a member, join up here:

Speaking of Bistro, this Wednesday we are celebrating the 1st Anniversary for our monthly Live Write. A great group of writers are going to be joining us, and we hope you will, too. One picture… multiple genres… endless possibilities!!! Watch my Author Page for the event link this week and be there on Wednesday evening starting at 7PM.

In books news, RAZOR’S EDGE is now available for pre-order. You can get the book on multiple e-book platforms, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, and Kobo… just follow this universal link and click on your preferred source:

And now to close… a little thought for the week, and beyond: Every day, we see things we don’t like… encounter attitudes, beliefs, worldviews and opinions, that we just…don’t…LIKE. And you know what? That’s okay. We have the right to dislike or feel indifferent to ANYTHING… people, things, places, ideas, beliefs… There is nothing wrong with disliking or feeling indifferent… Not liking big girls doesn’t make you sizeist… not liking M/M romance doesn’t make you a bigot… neither does not liking Christian fiction, or a particular sexual orientation or race… None of that makes you a bad person, and it’s wrong for other people to label you and mistreat you if you don’t like something. However, what IS wrong is when those feelings of dislike or indifference cause us to be cruel and unfair to other people. If you are tactless, insensitive, rude, mean, cruel, or bully people because of who they are, what they are, or what they think, that is wrong. It’s too easy, in this day and age, to become an angry mob, and no matter how righteous your cause may be, being an angry mob isn’t proactive… It doesn’t move us forward. So, my thought for the week is… be measured in your speech… be responsible, not just for not saying tactless, nasty stuff, but also for not retaliating against it in a way that causes more problem than not. Be an example of kindness, always, especially when you think they don’t deserve it.

That’s all for this week, folks… Peace, Love & Muchness to you all!!!
